January Favorites: Skincare

This past month I took a break from school and work as a way to clear my mind and enjoy my time with the people I love before I leave to study in Europe for 3 & 1/2 months. I've learned that while doing nothing can feel unmotivating for someone who is constantly on the go... It is important to take mental + physical breaks sometimes and rest your mind + body!!

I decided to dedicate January's Favorites to skincare. Some of these I recently discovered and some I've been using for years. It is important to remember everyone has different skin, so what works for my skin type might not have the same effect on others. I have oily skin that sometimes feels dry during the winter, however by no means do I consider myself to have dry skin. With that being said these are my January Skincare Favorites...

Helpful Tip: Many stores that carry skincare products, such as Sephora or Nordstrom, can give you samples! Skincare can be expensive, trying them out before you buy them will save you lots of money!

I discovered this gem a couple years ago and haven't stopped using it since. This is perfect for minimizing the size of those annoying random breaks out. I use this spot treatment right before bed, using a q-tip to apply it directly on the breakout. It works like magic!

There is nothing I hate more than a super thick moisturizer that makes me feel oily, especially in the A.M. This moisturizer is the exact opposite. It's light-weight and feels amazing (it even smells good). I love this for the morning for its energy-boosting elements.

#3. Origins Mineral-Enriched Oil-Free Renewal Cream

This is my go-to nighttime moisturizer. Again, it doesn't feel super thick or oily. They also have one that is not "oil-free" that might be better for someone who has dryer skin.

#4. Yes To Tomatoes Charcoal Detoxifying Paper Mask

This is one of my favorite sheet masks, hands down. The purpose is to detoxify and clean your pores and it does an amazing job. It gives a tingling almost burning sensation, which some people don't like but it is completely normal and is honestly not that bad. My skin feels super tight but also moisturized after and I love it.

#5. Tula's Illuminating Face Serum

I only recently started using this product, however, I love it so far. This serum is supposed to help with dark spots, wrinkles and smooth your overall complexion. It is also lightweight and goes perfectly under my moisturizer.

I hope you guys decide to try them out and love them as much as I do! I would also love to hear what your guys' favorite skincare products are! I'm always open to trying new products!

Don't forget to drink lots of water throughout the day and TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP!!! This is so important to prevent not only short-term breakout but long-term wrinkles. Take care of your skin and be consistent!

Hope the first month of 2018 has treated you all well!
