Cut off denim has been in trend for a while now and I am definitely still here for it. However being petite, it is a little bit harder for me to find a pair that work for me and actually give the cut off look, rather then being normal length jeans.
Whether you have the same problem or you just simply have a pair of jeans that you wanna cut up; Below is a quick & easy way to get the cut off denim look.

What you need:
- Jeans
- Scissors
- Pen/Marker
- Ruler
Step 1: Find your jeans.
It can be any pair you are okay with cutting up. Whether it be an old pair that you've had in your closet or a pair you thrifted for this purpose. Remember how tight the jeans are, make a difference in how they are going to look.
I have a pair of mom jeans, so mine will end up being a little more lose on the legs.
Step 2: Find your length & mark it.
To find where to cut your jeans, you are going to want to try them on with a pair of everyday booties. Fold up the jean so that the bottom of the fold touches the top of the shoe. This cut will end up be the longest part of your jeans (The back).
Once you fold the pants, you will need to make a small mark or two on the jeans to keep your place. I would recommend trying to take the pants off without unfolding the bottom because it makes it a little easier.
Step 3: Cut off the bottom excess.
Cut to the mark you had previously made, then cut off the bottom part of the jean. Measure up to the other leg then do the same.
Step 4: Mark & cut the front.
(You can stop at this step if you end up just liking how the cropped pants look.)
To get the shorter front, you will then measure up 1 inch from the bottom and mark both sides and even one in the middle for a guide. (I ended up liking how 1 1/2 inch looked, you can play with it to your liking)
Once you have made your marks it is time to cut. Cut the seams of both sides, then cut across.
(This is when I decided to add an extra half inch)
... and that's it!! You can play with it to get whatever look you want.
